35 Weeks- Are We There Yet?

Baby Miles and his Mama are having a disagreement. She is ready for the pregnancy to be over but he isn't of the same opinion. Guess who is winning the argument.

Here is a picture of me at 35 weeks along. The pregnancy is continuing to be a bumpy road but the end is in sight. Due to my gestational diabetes, my doctor will not let me continue past March 26th. I'm holding a honeydew melon that is approximate the same weight as baby: 5.5 pounds. He's somewhat over 18 inches long.

Levi dropped the melon/baby equivalent seconds after this shot was taken. I'll keep that in mind when the baby actually gets here.

Ahh, the good ol' days:
29 weeks
21 weeks
12 weeks

Want more? Check this out. Please notice how all the organs, ESPECIALLY the bladder, have been smooshed and shoved aside.

Another Baby Shower

This weekend we celebrated with Aundrea and Chuck at their baby shower. Their little girl is due just several weeks after our baby boy. We got to visit with lots of family and Corrine came up with Symphony and Xara. I got such a kick out of watching Levi's fascination with Xara. He gave her pats and stroked her hair and brought her toys. She tolerated all of his nurturing very well.

Look at the concentration on his face as he feeds her! It was so sweet. She is trying to help him out by opening her mouth as wide as possible.

Yummmmm!

On the way home that night he kept asking after her as well as reliving feeding her saying, "She messy!"

He was rather proud of himself!

Sorry I don't have any pictures of Aundrea at her shower to share! I didn't do a very good job of documenting the day.

Baby Shower

Sorry to our loyal readers for the blankness of this post for awhile. There were technical difficulties and pregnancy difficulties- thanks for bearing with me!
The baby shower throw by Aundrea, Corrine, and Momma Marji was so fun. We're so grateful to our family and friends who are a wonderful support to us. Thanks for celebrating our upcoming bundle of joy's arrival!
My Mom, jealous of Dad's visit, came out to spend time with us. Along with the baby shower she helped celebrate Joel's birthday. The kids had so much fun with their Nana and she, as usual, spoiled us with lots of treats and presents. A few more highlights: she took us shopping for a new rocker for the nursery, made pies for us all during our super bowl party (I think super bowl pie should be a new tradition), and came with me to my doctor's visit.
Sorry I don't have many pictures from the weekend but above are a few I managed to take.

Mid-Week Levi Pics and Pregnancy Update

Levi emptied out his Lego container and used it as a 'boat'. He likes to talk to the little boy in the mirror. This picture was taken seconds before I covered that cute face with kisses. He's wearing his other favorite pajamas- Thomas!

A new oh-so-charming antic of his- after I make the bed in the morning he sneaks in and wallows and burrows on and around the pillows I just stacked up.

He thinks that if there is a pillow on top of him, he can't be seen.

I'm finishing up my 32nd week of pregnancy and am still dealing with plenty of complaints. The queasiness and back pain continue to give me problems but thankfully the high blood pressure seems to have abated. New to the list of challenges is a recent diagnosis of gestational diabetes. My doctor is confident that my blood sugar levels can be treated through diet. I will be more closely monitored from here on out with weekly biophysical profile scans. Also, my doctor will not let me progress past 39 weeks so an induction, unfortunately, seems likely. Your continued prayers are appreciated!

Happy Birthday, Aundrea!

We got to celebrate Aundrea's birthday with her this weekend. She was kind enough to let Levi help open all of her presents. He has been going thru wrapping-paper-ripping withdrawl since Christmas.
"There's cake on the way!"

"How 'bout one more piece?"

"YAY, CAKE!"
