Christmas Trip

We're back from our Christmas visit to Chicago and Bourbonnais and while it was a wonderful time we are glad to be home. While there, we got to be with the Corzines and Rushes as well as lots of friends. As you can see from the pictures, Levi and Ruby were especially happy to be reunited. Levi was also very glad to spend lots of time fussing, crying, cooing, and smiling at his Nana and Papa and aunties and uncle.
We hope you had a blessed holiday celebration!

Levi's First Flight

Last Monday Levi took his first airplane ride. The stewardesses thought he was so cute and they gave him a set of wings and a 'First Flyer' certificate with his name on it. Thankfully he was unaffected by the pressure changes and kept pretty quiet for the duration of the flight.

We visited with his Uncle Joel, Aunt Kelly, and Cousin Ruby in Chicago for a few days. They were so helpful in taking care of him. Ruby was absolutely adorable interacting with 'Baby Eeevi'. She was very loving and gave him lots of kisses and pats and high fives.

Our good friends, the Johnsons, are visiting the States from South Africa this month. They are staying with us for a few days. I've missed them terribly and it's been so wonderful to get to visit with them. Jake is used to helping with babies and has been assisting us with Levi.

We hope your advent season so far has been blessed. Ours has been wonderful and exhausting. This little baby is such a blessing...and a real handful!

More proof as to why Amber isn't a baby photographer.

We hope you had a good Thanksgiving. We had the pleasure of spending ours at Aundrea and Chuck's house. They were great hosts and between them and the babysitting help of Levi's Gran and Grandpa, these new parents got to take a nice long nap. Here are a few new pictures. More can be found at our Shutterfly site.

He's Here!

Has anyone else noticed the sun shining more brightly lately? Maybe it just seems that way to us…

Levi Rush Dickson was born on this past Monday, November 5, 2007 at 5:19 p.m. He weighed 7 pounds and 14 oz and was 20.5 inches long. The labor started by induction, that morning at 6 a.m. The pushing started at 2 p.m. and three long, long, long hours (no epidural!) later he was born.

The baby is doing well and so is his Momma. Unfortunately, his Daddy got a horrible and violent stomach virus of some sort just several hours after the birth. The next day Levi’s Nana and Poppa came down sick as well. The three of them had to be quarantined and sadly banned from the hospital room. Thankfully the worst has passed and they are doing better.

We were discharged from the hospital this afternoon and got to bring home our beautiful baby. What a wonderful day! We’re excited, thankful, and exhausted. Thanks for your prayers and sharing your excitement with us.
