FarmPark Morning

It was a FarmPark kind of morning around here. The overcast skies kept things from getting too hot.

Milo was wildly amused by the naughty goat's antics.
The misters were on.
"I like the Sprinkers, Mama!"
Levi spent a lot of time studying the pond for a glimpse of a turtle.  A little boy told him that he had seen a big turtle with spikes on it's back.  Levi then told some other kids about said turtle.  Those kids were completely intrigued as well.  I think we may have a FarmPark (sub)Urban Legend on our hands.
Milo's getting much better at pedaling his own tractor.
"Bwok bwok bwaaaaaack"

Rush Reunion 2013

On Sunday we met up with all the Rushes for a picnic lunch at a park.   Also, we got t-shirts!  Click here for a look at the last reunion 5 years ago.

Aunt Kathy brought the kids presents.

They were so excited.

Branson Bound

We set out last Friday in a caravan of two vehicles for Branson, MO. Mom had flown in the night previous to join us in heading to the Rush Family Reunion. After arriving at our hotel we took a quick swim then joined many Rushes for a pizza dinner.

The kids were pretty excited about the trip.  I let them cozy up and read together for awhile before bed.  We eventually split them into two beds in our hotel room while Lucas and I joined Joel and Kelly next door in their room for some Settlers of Catan.  We listened in on the kids via a baby monitor and were greatly amused by their whispered conversations about the plans for the next day.

I know there is a day coming before too long where they won't spontaneously hold hands.  Levi is wearing an eye patch he received from Aunt Kathy.
These two are so sweet.
While we waited for Papa to join us (He couldn't fly into Kansas City until Saturday and got to the hotel in the late afternoon.  By the way, did you know that your GPS system of choice won't get you where you want to go if you misspell your destination city?  Also, did you know that there is a Brandon, MO?  My Dad does.) we lived it up.  Nana treated everyone to a day out on the town.  Our first stop was Go-Karts.  It was her first time riding them.  I drove with Milo and will (sheepishly) admit that everyone lapped us and we came in last by a long shot.
Here's most of our little bunch before we got completely wilted by the sun.
There's part of the go-kart track in the background.
Then it was off to pee-wee golf.  Levi loved it.  He even got a hole-in-one.
Milo took this outing pretty seriously.
It was so cute.

Little Artists

A morning spent in pjs with watercolors.

I have a necklace with an anchor charm on it. Levi painted this picture from my charm. I was impressed.
Milo got creative in displaying his art.  It could use a few more pieces of tape, methinks.
This is a mixed media piece.  He used tape and paint.

Another One, Please!

Kosse loved the little chocolate doughnuts. No need to take it bite by bite, apparently!

Happy Independance Day!

This morning the boys participated in our neighborhood's 'Popsicle Parade.' It was so fun. A police car leads the mass of kids on their bikes (or scooters or big wheels or wagons) in a loop around the esplanade. Afterward, popsicles and lemonade are served. Two fire trucks also came and the kids got to climb in and around them.  Usually it's 100 degrees out, but this year we enjoyed really nice temperatures.

Weekend Recap

We spent the weekend in Leavenworth with family. Lynn and Marji hosted a little meet 'n greet for baby Charlie.
Corrine, Ky, and Kosse were there, too.
Look at the adorable cake Corrine and Marji made.  The stack of chocolate doughnuts was labeled 'Spare Tires.'
Blue punch with boats and rice crispie stoplight treats.  Thank you, Pinterest!
The boys rough-housed around the hammock for hours.
Grammie F. was here!
Charlie got introduced to many new people.
Aunt Liz and Uncle Bill came, too.
As usual, none of us went hungry.
The weather was really nice.  It's not typical to want to cuddle on a Kansas porch in late June.
Couch full of cuties.
It was great to see Avery.  He is getting so big- remember when he was just a little guy?
