Kindergarten Open House

Last week the whole family went to Levi's school for his open house.

Levi and his teacher, Ms. Pappas.

Pointing out his '100th Day of School Picture.'

The kindergartner and the kindergartner-wanna-be.

He showed us the library and pointed out this particular shelf.  It has books on outer space.

I absolutely loved watching him show us around.  He's had a great school year.

We told him that he was our leader for the evening.  He sped around the school, "Here's the art room, here's the library, here's the gym..."  Our tour was over QUICKLY.
Levi's heart says, "I love my family because they are nice." I saw Henry, Suhayl, and Janelle's hearts all said the same thing.

Of course the whole class room is completely charming.

We'll be walking over this door mat many, many times in the coming years.

Tuesday

The weather on Tuesday was nice enough that Milo and I walked to the school to get Levi after kindergarten. Three different times on our way he would suddenly say, "I'm going to run!" and off he would go. I think the winter was getting to him.

We often play 'Eye Spy' on our walks home from school. Today when Levi suggested we play, I looked around and only saw grey and brown. He must have felt the same as he said, "Hmmm, maybe we should play where you have to guess things that have snow on them."

After the walk, they played outside for a little longer on their big snow pile in the cul-de-sac. This was my view of them from the front room where I kept an eye out and wrote the grocery list.

The Last Snow Hurrah

It looks like Spring might be coming!

With the turn the weather has taken, the boys have been enjoying a very rare experience: playing in the snow when it's warm outside.

They dug a hole into the large snow pile left behind by the plows.

Look carefully near Levi's feet to spot Milo.

The funniest part is they pulled the sled over top of them and called it a manhole cover.  This was happening late afternoon and they waiting very patiently so that they could jump out and surprise Lucas when he got home from work.

Wonderscope Outing

Monday, Levi was off of school for President's Day. We met up with some of our MOPS friends at Wonderscope. It was a bit of a zoo.  By the end of the morning I was a little twitchy but the chaos didn't bother the boys one bit.  They had a great time.

I personally could have stayed all morning in the construction zone.

Water table.

Submarine play-acting.

This boys loves anything scuba related.  My friend, Haley, took a scuba course and she gave Levi a couple of magazines and catalogs she received there.  He's been studying each page very carefully.

The art room contained a face painting area.

As hard as it is to believe, Levi painted his face all by himself.  Milo started off wanting to be a doggy but kept handing me different colors.  In the end it turned out to be something belonging in a clownish/abstract milieu.

My sweethearts.

MONSTER TRUCKS

Guess which Grandpa, Daddy, and two little boys got to see some real live MONSTER TRUCKS??

As you can imagine it was a huge deal for the boys.
Lucas put a lot of thought into the seats.  He thought if they were too close it might be a little much for the boys but he wanted to make sure they could see and not get trapped behind a bunch of tall people.
Apparently Levi invented his own special cheer.
"OH YAH."
Big finish!
I myself quite enjoyed the monster truck rally, too.  Of course I was not there instead I got to be home alone- something which has not happened in awhile!

Gran's Birthday

On Saturday, Lucas and the boys baked a cake for Gran's birthday. Milo was adamant about cracking the eggs and Levi wanted to run the mixer. He voiced concern about the noise the mixer might make and suggested that he and Milo wear their new ear protection. Safety first!
Spatulas are important.
Licking the bowl.
No cake batter left behind.
Gran had help opening her presents.
Happy Birthday, Marji!

Joel's Birthday

Sorry for the completely blurry pictures. Let's pretend I was going stylized in these photographs to capture the action and love of the night. The kids all made Joel presents for his birthday and here he is enjoying them.

Blogger Problems

Sorry for the lack of posts.  I have not been able to upload pictures and really don't know what the problem is.

We've been doing well and keeping busy.  Thankfully everyone is healthy and we are in the middle of a birthday season- Luke's sister, our niece, my brother, Luke's mom, and his grandmother were all born at this time of year.  I'll post pictures as soon as I am able.
