Jack-O-Lantern

The boys and I tackled the jack-o-lantern carving on our own this year as Lucas was held up at work on Halloween. Their favorite part was definitely all the ooey-gooey insides.

If you know me, you know my knife skills are legendary. Legendarily bad, that is. I got such a kick out of the amazing jack-o-lanterns people were showing off on facebook.   Let's just say they stood in stark contrast to my pumpkin art.

This is what we came up with:

It looks like a fourth grader did it! (No offense meant to fourth graders out there...)

The rest of our Halloween pictures are here.

More Fall Fun

A few Saturdays ago, we went to the farmpark and took a hay ride out to it's 'Pumpkin Hollow.'

The hay slide was a favorite.
Yeehaw.
They got to ride on this thingy.
Milo loved this ramp activity.
It didn't take long to work up to these shananigans.
Pumpkin bowling!
Good bye until next year, Pumpkin Hollow.

Kindergaren Halloween

Our Halloween was a fun and full day. It was raining as we dropped Levi off at school. Milo and I parked the car and then made our way back to the school gym to wait for the costume parade.
We were excited to see 'our' Batman.
He was the cutest of the bunch, in my opinion.

We returned an hour later for the class party.  I am the lead room parent and was thus in charge.  I feel like they should have asked to see credentials or something before giving me that responsibility.
It was crazy and boisterous and fun.  The kids were sweet and absolutely thrilled with the party.  I really enjoyed getting to meet Levi's classmates.

Yay for Fall

We can't say enough nice things about our realtors. They really care a lot about their clients and every year throw a big party in the fall (and also at Christmas time) for their clients. This morning we went out to Faulkner's Ranch and the boys were treated to so much fun.

Um...I really, really, really want a pet alpaca now.

Milo enjoyed the miniature donkeys.

"Food??"
Pony rides.
Zip-line rides.
Peddle cars.
Milo loved the bounce-y houses and the corn bin.  If you can count on Kansas for one thing, it's that in October there will be piles of corn for children to play in.
More Midwestern fall fun.
Corn cannons!
Here we go...
He gave the cutest little grunt.
Everybody climb aboard the 'Cool Bus.'
There was a conveyor system that let you put goat feed in a little cup that was then cranked upward to a platform.
Not just any platform, a goat platform.  The goats knew the drill.  They were quite happy to have a snack delivered up to them.
Swinging around...
Climbing around...
And to finish off a fun morning- a magic show.  The kids were absolutely rapt during the presentation.
I posted a couple more pictures here.

Happy Halloween!

We had a lot of fun trick-or-treating on our cul-de-sac this evening.  The neighbors were generous with their candy and compliments.  The boys ate it all up (literally and figuratively respectively),

Just your typical monkey and spiderman duo. Thanks, Nana, for the costumes.

He was adorable and the costume was soooo cuddly.  I couldn't help giving him lots of squeezes.

When the door opened, Levi cheerfully said, "Trick-or-treat!"  Milo looked serious and grunted.

This was Milo's first experience with Halloween and while I think he was a bit confused as to what was happening, he took to receiving candy very quickly.  He didn't really want to put it in his basket instead preferring to carry it in his hands.

Happy Halloween!

Our little construction worker went trick-or-treating at a few houses this evening. We were still visiting in Leavenworth (after all the birthday festivities) so one of the places he went to was Grandma Dickson's house.
He loves candy!

Let's go get some more candy!

This morning Levi asked to put his giraffe costume on again and then rushed to the front window where he looked out longingly and said, "Kids? Kids?" He was hoping to do Halloween all over again.

Happy Halloween!

Is this the cutest giraffe you've ever seen? He caught on quite quickly to the candy-getting concept of Halloween. He also really enjoyed seeing all the other kids out around our neighborhood.
Thanks to Nana for the costume!
