Welcome!

Our family grew by 7# and 15 oz on Wednesday night. Darling baby nephew, Charlie arrived at 7:58 p.m. on his due date. As I'm sure you can tell, he is a very special little boy. I'm smiling to myself imagining all the care he will get from his big sisters. Congrats to Aundrea, Chuck, Alison, and Amelia!

Sweet Baby

Happy! Happy! Happy! Happy! Our little nephew Roebin has arrived! He was born on May 25th at 3AM.  He weighed 6#9oz.  As my sister put it, 'He arrived 3 weeks early but right on time."

Lea was a total rock star during labor.  Her water broke on Thursday and she labored until the wee hours of Saturday night.  This pictures make me tear up everytime I look at them and trust me, I've looked at them a lot in the past few days.
Lea and Ryan are going to be wonderful parents.  My heart is so full thinking about God's masterpiece in this little one and the beautiful new family He's created.

Baby Kosse!

Our little nephew, Kosse (/Koe-see/), arrived on Thursday evening.  Corrine is recovering well and looks wonderful.  He surprised everybody by deciding to come over three weeks before his due date but at 6# 14oz and 19.25 inches long is quite healthy.  Luke went in to work at 5am on Friday to finish some things up and when he was done with a morning meeting we all loaded up in the car and headed down to Arkansas.  We were so happy and delighted to meet this little boy we had been praying for.

He's so adorable and sweet.

I soaked up every second of cuddling.

Super Gran!

Don't I look proud??

He has a lot of dark hair.

Whenever I see Luke holding a baby I melt.

Proud Mama holding Kosse in one of those brief moments that he had his eyes open.

'Kosse' means 'Lion'.

There's Gonna Be a Wedding!

On Saturday Ryan asked Lea to marry him! It was a beautiful proposal with a beautiful ring. Lea told me she wanted to jump up and down and say, "YES!" but she was wearing ice skates at the time so she could only do the latter.
They are a beautiful couple and all of us are so excited for them!

Welcome Alison!

It's been a happy day! Aundrea gave birth to a beautiful little girl named Alison Elise this morning. She was 7# 11oz and 21.5 inches long. We were so happy to get to meet our newest niece. Levi prayed for 'Baby Awison' several times today and was excited to go see her. Once we got to the hospital, however, he was mostly interested in helping Aundrea eat her snacks.

Loss

Our hearts are so heavy with grief this week over the loss of our nephew, Kaleb. Corrine was set to give birth to him on Friday but during a doctors appointment on Monday she learned that he had passed. Tuesday she delivered him and we were fortunate enough to get to hold him and admire what a beautiful little boy he was. We told him 'hello' and 'goodbye' at the same time. Please, please pray for her and the rest of the family as they grieve. We will be attending the funeral services on Saturday.

It's a boy!

We had a sonogram last week and found out that we are expecting a little boy! It was so exciting to get to take a peak at the little guy. Unlike Levi at this gestational age, this baby's head is of average size- his legs are extra long, though. They are in the 96th percentile. Any guesses as to when my boys will pass me up in height?

We're thrilled to know more about our littlest child and are so thankful that things appear to be progressing healthily.

Baby on the Way

For those of you who have not heard: we're expecting! I am 12 weeks along and am posing here with Levi, my already-there preggy belly, and a lime approximating the baby's current size. This is a very exciting time and we feel extraordinarily blessed.

Happy News!

What a happy day! Our family is so blessed. Today Kelly delivered her baby. Since her ultrasound months ago, we had been expecting a little baby girl. Today however, when the baby was born, we found that the niece we were expecting was actually a nephew! He does not have a name yet. Kelly and baby are doing well.

Congratulations to Joel 'Mr. Corzine' Corzine!

Joel had several interviews late this week and decided to accept the offer extended by the Park Hill School District. He will be teaching middle school math. It is a wonderful school district and he will be working for a great principal. We here at ladickson.blogspot.com are extremely proud of him. We are also excited that Joel, Kelly, Ruby, and the baby to be named later will be living so close.

Welcome Home

Dear Katie and Ryan,

I was very excited to hear that you were home from the hospital. It's much better at home- no nurses to poke at you and you can get hugs from Jake there.

Hopefully you are adjusting well to life on the outside. If you have any questions feel free to ask me, I'm five months old old now and know A LOT of things: how to roll over, how to (almost) sit up, how to get my whole hand in my mouth, and boy, do I know how to drool.

I'm excited to see you both. We will be able to get into all kinds of trouble together since our moms will be distracted. When they get together they talk and talk and then laugh and laugh and then eat some chocolate and then talk some more.

So drink your milk and get big and strong!

your friend,
Levi

New Job

We have some wonderful news. This week Lucas started in a new job. He's a management engineer at Hospital Corporation of America. It's a great opportunity and we're really excited about it.

He's Here!

Has anyone else noticed the sun shining more brightly lately? Maybe it just seems that way to us…

Levi Rush Dickson was born on this past Monday, November 5, 2007 at 5:19 p.m. He weighed 7 pounds and 14 oz and was 20.5 inches long. The labor started by induction, that morning at 6 a.m. The pushing started at 2 p.m. and three long, long, long hours (no epidural!) later he was born.

The baby is doing well and so is his Momma. Unfortunately, his Daddy got a horrible and violent stomach virus of some sort just several hours after the birth. The next day Levi’s Nana and Poppa came down sick as well. The three of them had to be quarantined and sadly banned from the hospital room. Thankfully the worst has passed and they are doing better.

We were discharged from the hospital this afternoon and got to bring home our beautiful baby. What a wonderful day! We’re excited, thankful, and exhausted. Thanks for your prayers and sharing your excitement with us.
