Flashback Friday- 3 Whole Weeks Ago

Here are some family pictures we snapped before Lea's wedding.  And yes, I have lots more wedding pictures to post!  This blog helps us keep in touch with everyone but it's other function is as our scrapbook- so an important occasion like this one means LOTS of photos.

More Wedding Coverage

Good shot of Lea and Ryan's Mom.

Love this one the best, tho.  Both are giggling and bare-footed.

I loved my flowers.  Levi kept picking clover from the lawn of the church and would proudly bring it to me.  He was expecting me to add it to my bouquet.  Can you see one sticking up in the center?  I'm not sure why the florist didn't think to add it.

Enjoying roaming and a little freedom while all the adults were distracted.

Nothing left to do but wait for a few minutes until the ceremony starts.

Lea and some old friends.

The girls all went upstairs to a small room at the back of the sanctuary to wait as the guests were seated.  I feel the same excited butterflies in my stomach just looking at this picture as I did that day.

She was excited and relaxed.  Let's do this thing!

Getting Ready for the Wedding

Milo fuels up for some ring bearer-ing.

"It's almost show-time.  Let's meditate on the sacred ceremony about to occur.  Or we could just wrestle!!"

I tucked in his shirt approximately 12 billion times that day.

Benji was born to wear a bow tie.

Heading back to the church after taking some pictures at the waterfront.  Note the bride's bare feet.  Her sparkly shoes got a bit pinchy by afternoon.

So happy!  So pretty!

"Is it time to change out of these clothes yet?"

What a sweet pair.

Grandpa, one of the essential pieces of the puzzle.

Enjoying a moment together.  We had spent the morning running around in separate places.  Me on bride duty and Lucas on boy duty.

LOVE them.

We're going on adrenaline here.

The fourth ring bearer.  He was A-DOR-ABLE!!

Grandma is even prettier than the flowers.

Va-va-voom.

What a great trio.  Well, a quartet actually if you count the asian man in profile in the background.

Rehearsal Dinner

After the wedding rehearsal, we were all treated to a lobster and steak dinner by Ryan's mother.

Levi loved dining on the water.  He really wanted to get on one of those boats.

Our midwestern kids did not know what the lobster crackers were for.  He used them at first to pinch his cheeks together declaring himself a fish.

Cha Cha Cha!

My dashing Dad.

While holding an asparagus spear: "I'm a sojure (soldier) with a spear and I'm going to poke the bad guys!"

My beautiful SIL, Kelly, enjoying literally one second of sitting still.  The rest of the trip she was chasing kids or taking care of wedding realated business.

Here I am rocking the lobster bib.  That dinner was delicious.

Levi was of course fascinated by my lobster.  Milo's expression in the background cracks me up.  "What IS that thing, Mama, and why are you eating it???"

The ceremonial Ham (/Haahm/) was presented to my parents for Lea.

Have a mentioned how wonderful Lea's new mother-in-law is?

The Ham contained many generous gifts- like this Chanel purse.  Several items were passed down to Lea that were in her mother-in-law's Ham.

Rehersal

The rehearsal was on Friday night, August 5th, a beautiful evening.

Lea wore this dress, a gift from Ryan's mother.  It's a traditional, formal Korean gown.  It was a real work of art.

Here is the flower girl/princess and 3/4ths of the ring bearers.  The fedoras made me squeal.

Levi mashed and mangled his and referred to it as his 'Garden Hat'.  Not really the vibe I was going for but whatcha gonna do?

They had a ball exploring in the church while the adults were mostly occupied with other things.

Nana with her escort.

Aunt Kathy standing outside our inn.

Lea and Mrs. Kim.  She is getting such a wonderful mother-in-law!

Heading up to the North Shore

Last Friday we drove from my parents house in Providence up to Boston's north shore.  We stopped off to see Lea and Ryan's new house.

Their new place is great.  We're really happy for them.

We drove further on to Rockport.  It was chilly enough that we made a stop first thing to buy a sweatshirt for Ruby.  This was the view out of the back of the shop.

Lea brought Kelly, Ruby, and me to a local jeweler to pick up our necklaces and earrings for the wedding.  She had worked with the jeweler and had them made especially for us.

This village could not be any more quaint.  Actually, I think it should be called Quaint.  After picking up the jewelry we headed over to the church to start decorating.
