Afternoon Out

One morning earlier this month, when Levi did not have school, the boys and I went to the Johnson County Museum. I had heard they had a fun kids area and we decided to explore it.

Mini golf:
Milo performs surgery at the hospital.
Taking care of the babies.

The boys enjoyed making lots of beaded projects.  My purse got decorated...
as well as my wrist.
There was a small theatre complete with red velvet curtain that they could open and close.
Their favorite part was getting to control the stage lights.
Milo performs as a dinosaur.
They enjoyed cooking supper in the old farmhouse.

As well as taking care of the chickens and hanging the laundry to dry.
"Did you find everything you needed today?"

We had a fun morning.

End of the Season

We took our last visit to the farmpark this week. It closes at the end of the month. It was so much fun to hang out with Aundrea, Alison, Mia, and Charlie.

The goat is just as curious about the kids as they are about the goat.
Her legs weren't quite long or strong enough to pedal but she enjoyed watching the big kids.
Levi loved getting smiles from Charlie.
You'll have even more fun when you visit the farmpark next spring,
Charlie!

Yay for Fall

We can't say enough nice things about our realtors. They really care a lot about their clients and every year throw a big party in the fall (and also at Christmas time) for their clients. This morning we went out to Faulkner's Ranch and the boys were treated to so much fun.

Um...I really, really, really want a pet alpaca now.

Milo enjoyed the miniature donkeys.

"Food??"
Pony rides.
Zip-line rides.
Peddle cars.
Milo loved the bounce-y houses and the corn bin.  If you can count on Kansas for one thing, it's that in October there will be piles of corn for children to play in.
More Midwestern fall fun.
Corn cannons!
Here we go...
He gave the cutest little grunt.
Everybody climb aboard the 'Cool Bus.'
There was a conveyor system that let you put goat feed in a little cup that was then cranked upward to a platform.
Not just any platform, a goat platform.  The goats knew the drill.  They were quite happy to have a snack delivered up to them.
Swinging around...
Climbing around...
And to finish off a fun morning- a magic show.  The kids were absolutely rapt during the presentation.
I posted a couple more pictures here.

Scholars

As it turns out, kindergartners have homework assignments.
So far it's been handwriting practice sheets.
Milo, of course, wanted homework of his own.  He does quite well with it!

Shelter in the Storm

One rainy afternoon the boys begged to build a tent. We used a tarp and a garbage can. It was tres chic.
They insisted I join them for a chat so I pulled up a flower pot and took a seat.
Levi, lover of knots, used the grommets and some rope to secure the tent.
Ready for strong winds.
I get such a kick out of them...
