This and That

One afternoon last week Levi was taking a long time falling asleep at naptime. When I went in to check on him, I found he had smuggled a toy car into bed with him and was entertaining himself by driving it all around his new, big-boy twin mattress. I confiscated the car and explained that we didn't play with toys during naptime.

Yesterday he was again taking a long time to go to sleep, prompting me to go and check on him. I found him sitting indian-style on his pillow, looking through a book while surrounded by 10 or so more. He had reached over to the bookcase next to his bed to retrieve them. While this followed the letter of the law (No getting out of bed at naptime) it didn't really follow the spirit of the law. I explained we didn't read books during naptime.

Today, once again, he was taking a long time to settle down. When I went in there, this is what I found. Despite stripping the bed bare, he was still in bed and when I opened the door Levi said, "Not time to read books, Mama!"

Miles is gaining neck strength. He works so hard to control that bobbing noggin of his.

The baby got to go on a walk down the street with Daddy and Levi the other night. There is a lot being cleared in preparation for some new home construction. Levi is so excited to see the bobcats working away just four houses down from us.

We've been enjoying outings to the 'farm park'. Milo was even awake for most of our trip there today though his view is pretty limited from his vantage point in the car seat and the fact that he can only see a couple of feet away.

Levi is much taller and more coordinated compared to our visits last season. He can climb for himself up on the fences. Here he is peeking over at three little piglets sunning themselves. He is also more brave this year- even feeding the biggest and most aggresive of the goats.

He liked this longhorn but his favorite desitination has been the cow barn. Today we got to see a three-day old calf.
