Fall Afternoons

After school- we're enjoying the early fall weather.

More from Nana's Visit

Here are a few more pictures from Nana's visit last weekend.  Sadly, I did not get any shots at our visit to Sky Zone.  All the adults- even me, even Mom- participated in some bouncy fun.

Scouts on Parade

The boys marched in Overland Park's Fall parade.

Steller

I'm trying out a new way of sharing pictures and stories.  It's an app called 'Steller'.   I'll post links on the blog for those family member that prefer coming here but you could also follow me and get my posts in your Steller feed.

Milo and I had a nice morning today.

Beat the Heat

Lots of fun this summer at the pool.

In Line

This should be interesting.

Brothers

The boys really enjoy being together.

I love watching them play. This summer, though, their individual interests became more clear.

Levi loves a project. He wants to make plans and DO. Here he is chiseling.

Milo likes to create. He loves his paints and markers...

...and sidewalk chalk.
One especially hot day we came home and Levi immediately asked if he could work on sawing a big limb in the backyard.

I asked Milo if he wanted to do the same.  He looked at me like I was crazy then asked to do some crafts- inside where it was cool.

Levi sawed and sawed and sweated and sweated.

Milo cut and drew and colored and made a mess.

I get such a kick out of them!

Summer Days

This foursome comes up with the best stuff.  Sometimes it's a one-act play.  Sometimes they'll treat you to a concert.  Here was a construction project.

It was a small fort of some kind.

They all used to fit on a bed much easier than this!

Jumping Beans

Is there any non-toy more fun than a mattress on the floor?

Well, maybe an empty refrigerator box or a space heater.

Wheee!

Family Visit

Summer is wrapping up! This blog is our digital scrapbook and I want to capture some of our summer's great memories. I have lots to catch-up on.

Mom, Dad, Grandma, and Grandpa came for a visit end-of-June. We got to celebrate Dad's birthday as well as July 4th. They were here for a week and it was such a treat to spend that time together.

Beach Bebe

My beautiful sister lives with her beautiful family in Boston. I have to share a few snapshots they recently took because I keep looking at them and melting into a pile of goo.

Chicago and My Bestie

At the beginning of the month I flew to Chicago to meet up with my best friend, Tricia. We walked in the Cancer Survivor 5K.  She is a thyroid cancer survivor.

It was fun being in the city again together and we had great food and lots of fun shopping.  The absolute best part of our weekend, though, was the Segway tour we took of the lakefront on Saturday.  A huge storm came up just as we started out and we got soaked.  Despite the gale force winds and my lack of coordination and balance, we had an amazing time and by the end my stomach hurt from all the laughing.

Waiting for the train, trying to take a selfie.  This is pretty much what we looked like the whole time.

Lemonade Stand

Levi and Milo had been looking forward to running their own lemonade stand. Last Friday we had a free morning and they worked hard getting it set up.

We took advantage of the fact that there was an estate sale going on just outside our cul-de-sac. We loaded up the wagon and our neighborhood's first pop-up shop was up and running.

We sold a lot of lemonade to each other but they also had several generous customers.

Happy Birthday, Charlie!

Cutie Pie Nephew Charlie had his first birthday at the end of May.  His party was a smashing success at the "Farm Park".  My boys are still talking about it.  It might have been the most fun they've had there and if you've read this blog for any length of time you know that is saying something.

I was on a previously scheduled trip to Chicago and missed the festivities.  You can see more pictures of all the fun here.

Floriday- Time to Head Home

The kids posing in the 'Oxford' t-shirts Nana brought back for them from a recent business trip to England.
Waiting to board the plane and head home.
This is how Levi summed up the weekend in his journal.

Florida- Celebrating Roebin's Birthday

While there, we had a small celebration in anticipation of Roebin's first birthday.
The tower of candies was a labor of love by Kelly and is a part of the traditional Korean first birthday.
Singing.
Cake!
Yay!
Presents!
Is it strange that I want to cover that foot with kisses then put it in my mouth??
What a beautiful boy.

Here are some pictures from Roebin's Dol, a traditional Korean first birthday, which took place after they got back home to Boston.
