Friday, Saturday

Little Ben, just up from a nap. Here's Joel wrangling the two slobberiest boys around. See all the drool splotches on Joel's shirt?

This little girl cracks me up. She was shuffling around saying, "Look at my shoes and mittens!!"

Levi, excitedly trotting around with another favorite toy...

...an old keyboard! How marvelous!

Today we celebrated Aundrea and Marji's birthday. Levi soaked up all the attention.

He enjoyed the unwrapping process.

Aundrea is 27 now!

And, to wrap up the evening: Lucas giving his parents and grandma a Facebook tutorial.

Look Who Found Mama's Sunglasses

"I have to crinkle up my nose to get them to stay on" "Lemme see you wear them, Mama!"

"I like to make this face while wearing the sunglasses."

The Sweeper

"This place is a mess. It looks like I'll have to take cleaning into my own hands."
"Where to start, where to start??"

"It seems to be the messiest here over by this high chair..."

"Hi hoe, hi hoe, it's off to work I go!"

"Maybe pole vaulting is in my future?"

"On Friday night I used the dust buster until the battery ran all the way down."

"It's almost as if a messy toddler named Levi hangs out here."

MLK day at Gran and Grandpa's

Levi spent today at his Gran and Granpa's house. His Auntie Aundrea was there, too, and everyone took such good care of him. Take a look at our little artist at work. You can see that his tongue is out just so- that's very helpful in aiding concentration you know.

First Hair Cut

We spent the day in Leavenworth with Mom and Dad Dickson as well as Aundrea and Grandma Dickson. After supper, Levi got his first hair cut. He doesn't have a lot of hair but there were some long straggely bits that needed to be trimmed up.
Levi was intrigued by the comb we used and helpfully combed my hair for me.

Here he is post-bath and still carrying the comb. There are still some areas that need trimming but I think it will be a work in progress. It's pretty hard to get him to sit still for very long.

Saturday

Levi playing with his blocks that came from Auntie Lea.
Now for his favorite part: KARATE CHOP!!!
Levi looking plaintively up the stairs where Grandpa and Daddy are working- without him.
His Mama relented and let him up the stairs. Levi wasted no time getting in close to help Grandpa.

He worked very hard with this screw-driver.

Almost finished, just a little bit more work...

Look at what my parents let me play with.

Levi has many toys. Lovely, colorful, indestructible, educational toys. Lots of times, though, he prefers to play with non-toys. Here are some of his favorites:
The flashlight.
The bathroom scale.
He thinks it is an especially wonderful non-toy if there is a handle and a cord involved. Here he's carrying around a space heater. This one is a real favorite because it's a little heavy for him and he seems to get a kick out of seeing how far he can carry it (while grunting all the way).
The handmixer (sans attachments)

And last but not least, the extension cord (unplugged of course):

New Year's Visit with the Johnsons

Things have been busy here at the Dickson household. We've had a full house full of really fun kids. The Johnsons are stateside now and Tricia, Jake, and the babies have been staying with us while Jeremy was back in South Africa for 12 days. Jake has been great with Levi. He is used to entertaining the twins and is very good with them. Levi likes to follow him around and act like Jake's shadow.

"I am not amused. Tricia put one of Katie's bows in my hair. Luckily, I'm man enough to pull it off."

Here Jake is clowning around and modeling one of the crowns he crafted.
